Purpose
A literature review helps identify what is already known, uncover gaps, and refine your research question. Steps
- Select Databases: Use PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar;
- Develop Search Terms: Use keywords (e.g., “clinical risk assessment,” “patient safety”) and Boolean operators (AND, OR);
- Filter Results: Focus on recent studies, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses;
- Analyze Findings: Summarize key findings and note gaps where your study can contribute;
Tools
